TL;DR (Plain English)
- Subscriptions (instructors/venues): during the beta year (free) there’s nothing to refund. Post-beta, you can cancel anytime; see details below.
- Student bookings: refund rules are set by each instructor/venue. If they don’t publish one, Tacticulture’s default policy (below) applies.
- If an instructor/venue cancels: students get 100% back to the original payment method.
- No-shows: generally no refund.
- Processing fees: non-refundable unless required by law.
1) Definitions
- Instructor/Venue: the person or organization offering a class or event.
- Student: the individual booking an event.
- MoR (Merchant of Record): in some cases Tacticulture processes payments as MoR; in others, the Instructor/Venue is the merchant (“BYOP” model).
2) Platform Role & Models
- Marketplace & gateway: Tacticulture connects Students with Instructors/Venues and provides scheduling, payments, and messaging tools.
- Who handles refunds?
- If Tacticulture is MoR: Tacticulture processes approved refunds per the applicable policy.
- If Instructor/Venue is the merchant (BYOP): the Instructor/Venue processes refunds; Tacticulture displays their policy and provides tools to execute it.
- Where an Instructor/Venue doesn’t publish a policy, Tacticulture Default Policy (Section 4) applies.
3) Instructor/Venue Subscriptions (SaaS)
- Beta year (Founding Members): $0. You may cancel anytime; no charges; data remains accessible per our Data Retention Policy.
- After beta:
- Monthly plans: cancel anytime; no refunds for partial months already billed. Service continues through the end of the billing period.
- Annual plans: cancel within [14] days of first charge for a pro-rated refund of the unused months minus any non-refundable processing fees. After [14] days, no refunds; service continues through term end.
- Add-ons & usage fees: non-refundable once delivered/consumed.
- How to cancel: from your dashboard or email [support@tacticulture.com]. Cancellations take effect immediately for future billing.
4) Tacticulture Default Policy for Student Bookings
(applies only if the Instructor/Venue hasn’t posted their own policy)
Student-initiated cancellation (event local time):
- 7+ days before start: 100% refund of the course price minus payment-processor fees.
- 72 hours to 7 days: choose 50% refund or 100% credit toward a future class with the same Instructor/Venue (credit valid 12 months).
- < 72 hours: credit only (12-month validity); no cash refund.
- No-show or arrival after safety brief begins: no refund / no credit.
Instructor/Venue-initiated cancellation:
- 100% refund of the course price to the Student’s original payment method. Any non-refundable processor fees are borne by the canceling Instructor/Venue.
- Instructor/Venue may also offer a reschedule or credit, but the Student may opt for a refund.
Weather & safety:
- Instructors/Venues may postpone or modify events for safety (weather, facility issues, safety advisories). If a Student can’t attend the new time/date, they may choose 100% refund or 100% credit.
Transfers:
- A Student may transfer their seat to another eligible participant until [24] hours before start, subject to the Instructor/Venue’s prerequisite and waiver requirements.
Prerequisites & waivers:
- If a Student fails to meet prerequisites, refuses required waivers/ID checks, or is removed for safety/compliance reasons, this is treated as a no-show (no refund).
Processing fees:
- Card/ACH processing fees and currency-conversion/assessment fees are non-refundable, unless required by law or the processor returns them.
Refund method & timing:
- Refunds are sent to the original payment method only and generally post in 5–10 business days (bank/processor dependent).
5) If an Instructor/Venue Publishes Their Own Policy
- The published policy controls, provided it is clearly visible at checkout and complies with applicable law.
- Tacticulture requires a minimum baseline: full refund if the Instructor/Venue cancels and clear disclosure of no-show rules and cutoffs.
- Excessive chargebacks or non-compliant policies may result in listing suspension.
6) Disputes & Chargebacks
- We encourage parties to resolve issues through the app first.
- If a Student files a chargeback, we will supply evidence (attendance logs, waiver timestamps, communications history).
- Chargeback fees and losses may be passed to the responsible party (Instructor/Venue for service-delivery disputes; Student for unauthorized use determined invalid, etc.).
7) Force Majeure
Neither Tacticulture nor the Instructor/Venue is liable for delays or cancellations due to events beyond reasonable control (e.g., severe weather, power failure, governmental orders, natural disasters). Refunds/credits will follow Section 4.
8) How to Request a Refund or Credit
- Use the order in your account or email [support@tacticulture.com] with:
- Order ID, event title/date, Instructor/Venue name
- Your name and contact email used at purchase
- Reason for the request
- We’ll acknowledge within 2 business days and resolve per the applicable policy.
9) Compliance Notes
- All times are based on the event’s local time zone.
- This policy does not cover any sale or transfer of firearms or ammunition (Tacticulture is a training-services platform).
- Consumer rights vary by state; where state law grants additional refund rights, we will honor those.
10) Updates
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new “Effective date.”
